The Lovely List

This week, I am so grateful to Jenny Jimenez for taking these amazing family photos. So talented! I can’t think of a better way to celebrate Maeve at 9 months.

I am also grateful to my wonderful husband who gave me the sweater I’m wearing in the photos. It’s from Pendleton’s new Portland Collection and I love it very much.

And, now, more favorite things.

If you could have one cookbook, what would it be?

Your baby’s brain is amazing! Help your wee one learn while he or she is still young.

Gorgeous embroidery shop. DIY kits are available if you are embroidery-challenged.

Hooray! Julia Child’s famous Mastering the Art of French Cooking goes digital.

A beautiful personalized family tree.

Oh Scandinavia!  I think I found my favorite line of girls’ clothes.

I’m not totally disorganized, but this type of organization is astounding and inspiring.

A must-have vintage bird pin.

My favorite spice is probably cardamom.  What’s yours?

I will never look silly in a scarf again. Here’s an amazing video, which shows you how to tie a scarf in countless ways!

The talented Elizabeth Dye (who designed my wedding dress) has a new 2012 collection. Breathtaking.

And, of course, a bit of new cookbook lust.

Hi Robin! I found your blog from the Jean Jean Vintage blog and was so excited to find that you’re in Seattle like me and have an abundance of great recipes to follow the seasonal produce here! I’ll be trying plenty of them! :)

      Sandy,
Aren’t they adorable?! Unfortunately, I think you have to order them from Europe. There are so many cute Scandinavian kids’ clothing companies. Ridiculous!

Lovely photos! Maeve is a doll. Although I have a much dog eared copy of Lucques, If I could only have one cookbook, it would probably be the Tartine Bakery cookbook. It’s my go-to book. And sea salt would be my favorite spice.

      Hi Leslie,
You can find the sweater at Anthropologie. Do you live near one?!

I love Anthro! I live about 90 miles from one, but I am definitely willing to make a trip to Minneapolis for the occasion!

Baby’s first leaf? I think I began collecting at that age. Love that shot. Was it difficult for K to give up his role behind the camera? I’ll be watching that scarf video after I get home from work. Finally the weather here is feeling “fallish”, so the scarves will come out of hibernation soon… if I can find them in the storage unit… As for favorite spice right now, I’ve been putting freshly ground mahlab on everything. A new discovery, it’s great on popcorn, in oatmeal, cookies, tea cake, madeleines, anything!

    Cheers,
